Murad Gunduz is from Niagara Falls, Ontario very near to the town of Port Dalhousie, where world famous drummer Neil Pert hails from. Murad's ambition to play drums began at a very early age starting in the kitchen with wooden spoons, pots, and pans. At age fourteen Murad met local drumming celebrity Mark Rogers of the internationally renowned 'LMT Connection' who influenced his sound and style and helped prepare him to be the drummer he is today. | |
Over the past 25 years Murad Gunduz has honed in on his drumming skills by covering a variety of genres that include Rock, Blues, Rhythm & Blues, Jazz, Cuban, and Brazilian music. His influences include John Bonham, Vinnie Colaiuta, Stewart Copeland, Steve Gadd, Steve Jordan, Clyde Stubblefield, Earl Palmer, Jeff Porcaro, Kenwood Denard, Steve Smith, Omar Hakim, Mark Kelso, Paul Delong, and Ted Warren just to name a few.
Some highlights of his career include touring & recording with Noel Richards, Brian Doerksen, Psalm Drummers, Stang and blues man Shakin Smith throughout Canada, Europe & the United States. When not on tour with 'Wild T & the Spirit', Murad drums with 3 time Grammy Award winner Walter Ostanek, who by the way is from St. Catharines, Ontario which very near to the town of Port Dalhousie!
